Job Description:

 

The Villa, the newest senior care community of LSMNJ, located in desirable Florham Park, is currently seeking a full-time 3-11 RN.

The RN will:

 

           Assesses the health status of assigned residents and develops plan of care based on assessment.

           Administers medications/treatments per physician order

           Transcribes and executes physician orders in a timely manner.  Assesses and reports any reactions to physician orders

           Controls the counting of narcotics and controlled substances.

           Maintains accurate syringe count

           Maintains accurate and pertinent documentation of clinical care.

          Identifies activity of residents/patients, defines their care needs and delivers quality care consistent with scope of practice.

          Implements plan of care on assigned residents evaluating the effectiveness of treatment.

          Provides nursing care following standards of practice and nursing protocols.

          Evaluates residents responses to care and treatment. Responds to emergency situations according to scope of practice and facility policy and procedures.

          Assumes leadership role  and monitors LPN and CNAs giving direction as needed.

          Attends and participates in all assigned meetings/inservices as directed by the Director of Nursing.

           Investigates all necessary data regarding resident care issues prior to rendering treatment or care.

           Assists residents at meal times.

           After being oriented and trained, functions as the House Supervisor when needed

          Completes incident reports and investigations as they occur on that shift.

          Completes admission assessments as directed by Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager.

          Enters all pertienet medication information, medicine treatments, nursing notes, etc. into the EMR correctly and appropriately.

          Oversees CNA completion of ADL implementation into EMR on a daily basis.

          Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the LSMNJ Code of Ethics and Business Integrity in the performance of duties.

          Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.

         Follows all local, state and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.

         Adheres to the Organization’s Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Other duties as assigned by my supervisor, necessary for the efficient operation of the department/facility

Experience and Skills:

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure from the State Board of Nursing.

Effective communication and organizational skills. Skilled in directing and motivating staff.  Basic computer skills

Two years long term care experience is preferred
